Special Session on Computational Intelligence for Healthcare and Medical Engineering

The application of computational intelligence to healthcare and medical engineering has increased considerably over the past few years as its ability to solve complex and often highly non-liner problems is better understood.  The aim of this Special Session is to promote key examples of state-of-the-art applications of CI in this important discipline and considers the potential for use in routine clinical practice.

This Special Session welcomes paper submissions in any area of healthcare and medical engineering, including the following:

- diagnosis and monitoring
- medical imaging
- expert systems and patient support
- medical records data mining
- modelling and simulation

All submissions will be peer reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be indexed in IEEE Xplore.  Selected papers (after substantial extension) will also be considered for publication in a special issue of Soft Computing Journal.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers of no more than eight (8) pages in IEEE conference format, including results, figures and references. Further submission details will be posted on the main UKCI2013 web site in due course.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.
