Sample videos of real-time mosaicing using SAM
These videos show real-time mosaicing of webcam videos
- Office - real-time mosaic. SAM generates a mosaic
frame-by-frame as the camera pans and
tilts freely. Note the slight visible error by the end of the
sequence: the centre of rotation is about 10 cm from the
optical centre so the estimated projective transforms do not precisely model
the frame-to-frame differences. SAM revises an area in the mosaic when it is revisited,
but does not do global re-adjustments.
- Garden - real-time mosaic The revisits in this
video need less correction because the scene is far away relative to the
distance between the optical centre and centre of rotation.
- Tower - real-time mosaic of a buiding at
York University.
Monochrome frames are displayed when SAM cannot find a good match.
- House - real-time mosaic from jerky movement.
Monochrome frames are displayed when SAM cannot find a good match.
- Plane - real-time mosaic by waving a camera
over a plane. Arbitrary camera movement over a plane yields a projective
transformation between images, so SAM can mosaic a plane from a freely-moved
camera.
