Real Time Head
Tracking
We have developed a real-time head tracking system based on background subtraction that robustly finds and follows multiple heads, even when similarities between the background and the face/hair colour result in mistakes in the subtraction. We also have a background rebuild mode where the system can progressively reinitialize its background map after a camera slip, illumination change, or other sudden change in the background. This works by using foreground motion to conservatively estimate which parts of the changing scene belong to the background. Multi-direction drape image by Wenbo Pan |
