"I chose York because it offers one of the best electronics courses there is out there, and I had visited York before and knew that it was a lovely city, perfect combination! I am studying Electronic Engineering with Business Management because I figured this might set me apart from the people on straight electronics when it comes to searching for jobs. The quality of teaching in York is excellent, its surprising how many times you find lecturers that are well known names out in the real world. The course is a lot of fun, in particular some of the projects such as the first year audio amplifier which was great to build and which I will be using for the foreseeable future!
For someone like me who enjoys the great outdoors, York is excellent because its located close to all of the great hiking spots in the UK, and not that far from Scotland. I tend to go away hiking every other weekend, and I've certainly had some great experiences that I would never be able to get being located in the south. For those who like beer, there is a great selection of pubs in York which makes it possible to go to a different venue for every day of the year!"
