"I always wanted to study Electronics, but when it came to choosing a university, I wanted to combine my engineering degree with my musical interests. The Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems course at York was ideal - a good university and respected department giving me the chance to learn and develop my skills while doing something I loved.
Even though the course workload was heavy, the hard work has paid off for me. I graduated in 2003 and, having been inspired by my final year project, I am now based in York running my own business specialising in Web Accessibility and researching possibilities for innovative Internet software.
Various aspects of my degree help me with my business: team-based projects, software engineering, business studies, transferable skills and the advice I got from lecturers. I still have valued contacts within Electronics Department and other areas of the university."
