BSc Music Technology Entrance Qualifications

We are happy to provide advice in advance of an application and a candidate's individual circumstances will always be taken into account. The following notes are a guide to the requirements for BSc Music Technology.

General Pre-Requisites

• Grade B at Maths GCSE or equivalent
• A demonstrable motivation towards making music

A levels

BBB to include at least one of: Music Technology, Music, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, I.T./Computer Science, or similar.

Scottish Advanced Highers

BB to include at least one of: Physics, Music, Technological Studies, Mathematics or similar.

Irish Highers

BBBBB to include at least one of Physics, Music, Mathematics or similar.

BTEC

DDM-DMM in a relevant diploma e.g. Music Technology, Engineering (variants).

International Baccalaureate

32 points overall, with grade 5 in any of; Music, Physics, Maths, Design Technology or Computer Science at HL.

Other Qualifications

We are happy to consider other qualifications that contain a substantial emphasis on Music/Science/Electronics/Computing – please contact us for advice on your specific qualifications.

English Requirement (International Students)

For applicants whose first language is not English, you will need an acceptable English Language qualification such as IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 79 (IBT) or 213 (CBT).
