Research Interests
Radio resource management, cognitive radio and machine learning, including dynamic spectrum sharing for cognitive radio, cognitive radio for open spectrum access. Particularly interested in applying reinforcement learning to distributed cognitive radio system, reinforcement learning for self-organising cognitive radio networks, cross-layer learning engine design for cognitive radio and low complexity cognitive radio for ‘Green’ communications.
Key skills
- Dynamic channel assignment and interference management for coexistence through cognitive abilities, incorporating standards such as IEEE802.22, IEEE802.11 and IEEE 802.16. Cellular communication techniques, OFDM and network protocols (TCP/IP).
- Reinforcement learning for wireless systems, including learning model design, reasoning and efficient exploration techniques.
- System modelling, including hierarchical system modelling, modelling of cognitive radio systems, incorporating with various interference management models, learning models and traffic models. Modelling of dynamic bandwidth assignment models in heterogeneous communication systems scenarios.
