Research:

The analysis and synthesis of singing, music and speech including digital waveguide synthesis of the human voice; tuning and pitch drift in unacompanied (a capella) singing; real-time visual feedback for professional voice users; the effect of singing training particularly on boy and girl choristers (longitudinal study in progress with Professor Graham Welch of London's Institute of Education).

Teaching:

Acoustics; psychoacoustics; signal processing; voice production, analysis and coding; vocal synthesis; healthy voice use.
