  • Dr David Chesmore is the group leader for B.A.S.E. He is a lecturer in the Electronics Department at York and currently teaches operational amplifiers, engineering design and transferable skills. [more]


  • James Schofield is a PhD student working on a Defra funded research project (PH0149) to develop detection and identification systems for quarantine insect pests, especially wood-boring beetle larvae.

  • Jon Stammers is a PhD student working on an EPSRC funded project "ISRIE - Instrument for Soundscape Recognition, Identification and Evaluation" Jon's research is in the automatic classification of sounds within a soundscape". The project is in collaboration with the Universities of Southampton and Newcastle.

  • Ollie Bunting is a PhD student working on an EPSRC funded project "ISRIE - Instrument for Soundscape Recognition, Identification and Evaluation" Jon's research is in the localisation and separation of sounds within a soundscape". The project is in collaboration with the Universities of Southampton and Newcastle.

  • Naoko Evans is a PhD student working on the automated identification of vehicles using acoustics and signal processing, especially time domain techniques.
