I am a PhD student from the Engineering Management Research group and my research involves the study of CEO’s innovative style and its influence on organizational Intrapreneurship. Creativity and innovation are critical elements in influencing several dimensions of any organization and such innovative achievements vary largely because of different leadership style, organizational culture and innovation processes. My interest in this field developed particularly during my MSc course which I did in Engineering Management last year from the University of York. This course offered in York had the perfect blend of management as well as technical subjects and during this process certain areas of ideation and Enterprise management developed my interest for further research.
Identification of intrapreneurship within an organization is one crucial area that has been facing several research gaps over the years. Also the link between CEO’s creativity and innovation with intrapreneurship so far has not been explored in proper dimensions. The prime focus of my research would be to design a business model that will identify different influential characteristics of a CEO and link the critical elements of creativity and innovation developed from these identified characteristics with organizational Intrapreneurship.
The city of York is one of UK’s most beautiful and peaceful places with several historic landmarks. The whole campus around the university is visually very beautiful and creates an excellent atmosphere for studies. As a student, you can also participate in several societies of your interest and meet people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds with common interest. The support I received from my department during my MSc course was really excellent and this is one of the prime reasons I stayed back for my PhD. The academic staff in the Management group are very encouraging, enthusiastic and supportive, always eager to offer useful advice and comments. The University of York has an impressive reputation all over the world for its excellence in teaching. It has created its own niche as a very young but highly successful university. It is an honour for me to be part of such a wonderful institute.
