Funding Mechanisms

A main objective of ARTIST is to encourage and stimulate the AIS research community. To this end, ARTIST has a number of funding mechanism that are open to a variety of individuals to apply for. It is normally expected that one award per year will be awarded to an individual, although there may be exceptional circumstances where this is not the case.

In all cases, the applicant should complete the form associated with the particular type of visit. Please take note of any particular timing for submission of applications, as these do vary. This completed form should then be submitted to Dr. Jon Timmis (EB Chair) by email or by land mail. The application will then be passed onto the EB for consideration and you will be notified by official letter from the EB of the outcome of the application.

These awards are designed to compensate for travel and subsistence only, and if the application is successful, the applicant will be allowed to claim monies back incurred. Upon completion of any visit, the applicant is required to prepare a half page report of the visit which should be submitted again to Dr. Jon Timmis via email and will then be made available on the ARTIST website. If a report were not to be produced, an expected outcome of the visit would be either a grant proposal or paper (the EB should be informed if this is the case).
